Meet the talented local artisans whose one-of-a-kind works are featured in The Garden Shop. Throughout the month of May, join us on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 pm to meet these talented artisans, hear about their work, learn about their processes, and shop their amazing collections inspired by plants, people, and beauty. No admission is required. Members save 10% on purchases at The Garden Shop.

Support Our Professional Horticulture Students 
Join us in supporting our Professional Horticulture students by purchasing beautiful spring plants and fresh produce! Head to the Visitor Center Patio located at the front entrance on May 5 (10 am to 4 pm) and May 6 (10 am to 6 pm) and shop for an assortment of vibrant annuals, fragrant perennials, fresh vegetables, and more (while supplies last). Proceeds from the sale go toward the students’ study abroad travels.

Learn More About Turf Care
Lush green vistas unify our dynamic garden spaces. But what does it take to keep our lawns healthy, and what practices should you use at home? Join Director of Horticultural Operations Shawn Kister online on May 10 at 12 pm as he shares how he and his team care for Longwood’s 170 acres of turf. Then, learn mowing and watering techniques, fertilizer applications, weed and pest control measures, and best practices to improve your yard.

Wondering where you can find some of our most beloved feathered friends in our Gardens? From majestic great herons near our Hourglass Lake to chatty mockingbirds in our Meadow Garden, this guide details where and when you’ll be able to find a variety of interesting birds throughout the seasons.

Need help with your home gardening? We've spoken with local experts and Longwood instructors via Zoom to answer Members' questions pertaining to several facets of home gardening. View the recordings and then tackle vegetable gardening, soil preparation, and more!

Members are invited to join Longwood staff on May 14 at 12 pm for an introduction to our Gardens and to discover all your Membership has to offer.
