Dear Denison Families,
April has been full of celebrations and so many wonderful moments. Here are a few highlights:
|
-
The Eisner Center has been bustling with activities, including an outstanding performance of 9 to 5, ensembles, concerts and senior recitals.
-
We've celebrated the achievements of our students, honoring 10 President's Medalists, Top 50 Scholar Athletes, fellowship recipients, and student leadership awards.
- Students have been traveling to national conferences to present their research with faculty and sharing their senior research through symposia.
- Seniors gathered for Countdown to Commencement to mark their final month on The Hill.
- Our spring athletic teams have dominated!
-
From tailgates to concerts, to end-of-year events for student groups, or even our very own performing groups taking center stage, like the Hilltoppers, Ladies' Night Out, DKDG, IDM, Afro-Spice, The Overalls, and Dog House, this time of year showcases the depth and breadth and possibilities available to our students on The Hill.
|
It has been a wonderful month to conclude a truly remarkable year.
As the year comes to a close, we thank you for all you do for our students — cheering on our athletes, supporting the arts, attending campus events, welcoming your student's friends and classmates into your home during breaks, nudging your student to take advantage of opportunities, offering internships, philanthropically supporting the college, and most of all thank you for sharing your student with us. Their ideas, their energy and passion, and their care and commitment to one another make our campus a better, more vibrant place. Thank you for raising such outstanding humans and for supporting them and their success at Denison!
Thank you for being such an important part of our Denison community.
Warm wishes,
Julie Tucker ’09

This is a key time to provide space for support and reflection with your student as they wrap up the academic year. Consider asking your student:
|
- How are final exams, papers, and projects going?
- What achievements are you most proud of this academic year?
- What has really challenged you this year, and how have you grown from it?
- What are you looking forward to this summer?

Advice from the Academic Resource Center:
Supporting your student through finals
|
Finals week can bring a unique set of challenges for students. With no set class schedule, they must juggle studying, exercise, rest, paper writing, socializing, and packing. Families can support their students by broadening the conversation beyond just "doing well on finals" and exploring how they're managing their overall balance during this time. Remind your student that the Academic Resource Center (ARC) is here to help with resources like ARC Peer Totoring, Academic Skills Building sessions with ARC staff, and support for students with disabilities through Accessibility and Disability Services.

Offer a Micro-Internship:
|
Denison is excited to offer parents a unique way to engage with students by hosting a Summer 2025 Micro-Internship! These short-term (40-hour), remote, paid (by Denison!), professional projects allow students to showcase their skills, explore career paths, and expand their networks. Additionally, they offer you and your business immediate support and a potential pipeline for future talent at no cost to you or your organization.
These projects require minimal onboarding and can be completed by a student with little to no instruction. These are important, yet low-risk tasks, projects, and research initiatives that provide a valuable learning experience for students and contribute to the organization's overall value.
Don't miss this chance to connect with talented Denisonians! Post your project on our website.
Have questions or need more information? Fill out this form, and a member of the Knowlton Center team will follow up.
