Staff Spotlight — Summer Pessatore
As one of the newest members of the Communications and Community Engagement team, Summer Pessatore has quickly become known for her positivity, curiosity, and steady approach to supporting departments across the City.
“When departments need help getting their message out, I’m here for it,” Summer said. “I love connecting people with the right resources and making sure our team delivers strong, on-time communications that really hit the mark.”
Summer’s path to municipal communications grew out of two long-standing interests: “I’ve always had two career passions – higher education and government,” she said. She studied both in college with plans to teach political science at a community college.
“But, as life often does, things took a different turn.” She spent nearly a decade in higher education before transitioning to local government, where she has found new energy and purpose. “There are so many different departments doing very different, yet equally important, work,” she noted. “Learning how to communicate effectively with all those audiences has been invaluable.”
When asked what she enjoys most so far, Summer didn’t hesitate: “The people! The Communications and Community Engagement team is truly awesome. They’ve been so welcoming and supportive…plus the dogs, duh.”
Summer says she’s grateful for the warm welcome. “Thank you for taking a chance on me, welcoming me into your community, and trusting me to help communicate all the great work you do for this beautiful city.”

Park City Advances Early Childhood Support Through Partnership
Park City Municipal is one of just 16 cities nationwide selected to participate in the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Prenatal-to-Three Impact Lab, a nine-month technical assistance and peer-learning cohort focused on improving outcomes for young children and families.
“Being selected for the Prenatal-to-Three Impact Lab gives us the opportunity to learn from other cities, refine what’s already working in Park City, and strengthen a program that directly supports our workforce and community," said Michelle Downard, Strategic Initiatives Advisor.
