ECELP Parents,
This week we are celebrating "Week of the Young Child"® , which is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). As the Louisiana Affiliate of our national organization and as a laboratory preschool, part of our focus is to promote the importance of early care and education.

Today we know more than ever before about the importance of children's earliest years in shaping their learning and development. The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

Please visit our Facebook page for photos of the children's activities this week and join us in celebrating young children!

Teacher of the Month -  Cynthia Jones

We would like to recognize Ms. Cynthia as our Teacher of the Month. Ms. Cynthia has worked in early childhood for 30 years in a variety of settings.  She seeks to provide children with an educational journey that is challenging, creative and most of all fun. Ms. Cynthia stresses the importance of creating a positive, caring enviornment that builds character and promotes learning opportunities.
“Children are powered by their imagination, not by batteries.”- H. Jackson Brown Jones, author of Life's Little Instruction Book.
I have extremely high expectations for all children. I recognize and respect parents as their child’s first teacher. My goal is to foster and enhance the knowledge of each child daily, as well as create a partnership with their families.

We are fortunate to have Ms.Cynthia as part of the ECELP team!
