June Faculty Spotlight: Andrew Wolfe
Andrew D. Wolfe, Jr., M.S.C.S, is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Professor Wolfe teaches Computer Science courses and created Loyola’s new Bachelor’s program in Cybersecurity. He has been full-time at Loyola since Fall 2018.
"I was so glad to discover that at Loyola caring for each student as a whole person is the norm, not the exception. This is no less true for an online students—local or remote—than for students we see in class. There are many places where I could share thirty years’ industry experience with students but few in which I can respond to individual needs in the inclusive context of Catholicism and challenge students in the rigorous tradition of Jesuit education. I have created a lot of online materials for my students to study on their own, but my favorite part of teaching is webconferencing with my students, seeing where they are, and helping them to identify, reach for, and accomplish their academic and personal goals."
Each issue we will feature an online student or faculty/staff member who embodies the Ignatian ideals of faith, truth, justice, and service in our online community. If you'd like to nominate someone, please contact ssconlinega@loyno.edu to share who and why you think deserves to be in the spotlight.
