The Rev. Kevin Crawford, Assistant Chaplain

| Dear Friend,
Welcome back to Emory! We hope you have had a winter of rest and warmth. As the Christmas season has come to a close and Epiphany brings wisemen to the Christ-child we bring warm greetings from the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life and your home for Methodist connections at Emory. This semester we are creating a number of pathways to gather together. Whether you are comfortable meeting one on one, in community, traveling on retreat for leadership formation, or seeking a family away from family, the strength of our Methodist connectionalism binds us together
It is our continued prayer that your journey through college is one where the mind and heart come together and all of the knowledge you garner in your courses is joined with the wisdom of grace and the work of the Holy Spirit in your life.
We invite you to journey together, leading your own lives of faith in our community of Methodists at Emory and alongside the 12 million people called Methodist around the world.
Sincerely yours,
The Rev. Kevin Crawford
Assistant Chaplain, Office of Spiritual and Religious Life

Emory Wesley Fellowship
For good food and warm friends, join a group that goes beyond the surface of life. Connect over a meal each week to find a place where your soul will know belonging and connection to others as United Methodist students or students curious about Methodism. Seeking to explore deep truths in the world and in ourselves, this group is about the relationships that take root when students gather to check in and ask “How is it with your soul?” with the kindness and care of Christ’s love etched on our hearts.
If you would like to sign up for this group or express interest in being a leader, please register below.

This time is designed to connect student leaders together for learning, sharing ideas, and worship. As we begin a new semester, we want to take this time to invite students who are passionate about their faith to join in the reformation of our people called Methodist on this campus. We continue our support in developing leaders and visionaries who have found their homes in the grace of Jesus and in the open doors, open hearts, and open minds of the United Methodist Church. Assistant Chaplain Kevin Crawford will accompany students on this retreat, and Emory will cover the retreat registration costs. For more information, please email kevin.crawford@emory.edu.

Coffee with the Chaplain
When I was in college, the chaplain there made a point of hearing me, of being a true listener, and was always someone who would be honest with me. College was a time full of life, death, and everything that came between. We were growing and learning about more than what happens in the classroom; we were learning life. I want that same thing for students at Emory and that is why I became a chaplain. If you need a place to put it all, a listening ear, someone to celebrate with or someone who can hold onto hope with you, let’s find time for one another over coffee and tea and walk through the world together. To schedule coffee, please email kevin.crawford@emory.edu.

UM Home Away from Home Program
Finding a place to call home in college can be hard. As Methodists, our connection runs deep and families across Atlanta are opening up their hearts and doors for students at Emory looking for that reminder of what a home-cooked meal, a family conversation, and a warm place of belonging and embrace feels like as you make your journey through college. There are no commitments or strings attached. These are just families wanting the best for college students and making a space for students to remember that their faith is a connection to God and to God’s people.
May this spring semester be one of hard work and joyful learning, and we look forward to seeing you all on campus!
