Meet the 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees

Congratulations to the 2020 Hall of Fame class! These individuals will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame during the National Tournament in June.

Financial Support for Students Competing at Nationals

With the decision to move to the online National Tournament, the Tate Fund is now a way to provide financial assistance so that students can have a more equitable experience. This year, the William Woods Tate, Jr., Memorial Fund will provide accepted students with a $50 to $75 check payable by June 1. These funds are intended for students competing in main events at the National Tournament to purchase technology, pay for internet access, or acquire other resources that will allow them a more equitable experience.
We have a limited pool of funding, so we ask that you only apply on behalf of students you know most need these funds. Learn more or apply here by May 22, 2020.

Your Team Could Be Featured in our National Tournament Content!

One of the best parts of being at Nationals or following along from home is the sense of excitement and community of the capstone event. Your students can help us replicate that feeling at our online events by submitting photos, videos, and messages!
Lip Dub Video » This year's lip dub song is Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." Students can check out last year's video for inspiration and submit dance or lip syncing clips for consideration! Be sure to tune in during National Tournament Award Ceremonies to see the final product!
Senior Thank You Wall » This new hub will feature videos, pictures, and messages from the Class of 2020! We would love for your students to share some thank yous, favorite memories, and reflections on their time in this activity.

New Feature: Student Point Submissions for Coach Approval

Students can now submit points for your approval through their NSDA Account. Submitted points will await approval or denial in your Pending queue the same way autopoints do. There are checks in the system to catch duplicate entries. This tool is especially useful for submitting service points!
An Add option appears next to a student's point total on their account.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Month + Pride Month

Check out our collections for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (May) and Pride Month (June). You can ask students to browse the available posters for any celebratory month and find a quotation they relate to and share why, or to use our poster template to build their own to be used for new student recruitment next year!
Visit www.speechanddebate.org/inclusion to check out our collections for Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, Women's History Month, and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Add Points and Citations Before the Recognition Deadline

If you have outstanding points or service citations to enter, be sure to do so before the May 15 recognition deadline to have your accomplishments listed in our virtual National Tournament program book.
