"Jessica Meirwas chosen as an astronaut in 2013. She has spent 205 days in space and performed three spacewalks. A native of Caribou, Maine, she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, a master’s degree in space studies, and a doctorate in marine biology. Before coming to NASA, she studied the physiology of animals in extreme environments."

The Research Science Institute (RSI) is seeking STEM students who are currently in 11th grade and are interested in pursuing research this coming summer! RSI is an intensive, six-week summer residential STEM enrichment program co-sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). RSI is intended for students of exceptionally strong academic ability and background, between students' 11th grade or the equivalent years of secondary school.
