New Fundraising Ideas in the Works:
1) Golf Ball Drop – You’ve already heard about this event, as soon as we tackle down a venue for the event we will start getting company sponsorships. Still planning on springtime.
2) Ornament Sale - Sell rare, irreplaceable glass ornaments this holiday season. We have an incredible opportunity to profit from the sale of one-of-a-kind blown glass ornaments. These ornaments were gifted to Southtowne Rotary through past-president Glen Brigham.
From a mountaintop studio above Oregon’s Willamette Valley, master glassblower Hal A. Lindsley created his celebrated “Artistry in Glassblowing.”
Beginning in 1950, Hal shaped each ornament, bell, and crystal treasure by hand using the ancient tradition of free off-hand method—no molds, no duplicates, every piece truly one-of-a-kind.
With Hal’s passing nearly a decade ago, only a limited number of his creations remain. These rare ornaments are among the last examples of his lifetime of craftsmanship—unique, irreplaceable, and cherished by collectors of fine Northwest art.
3 ) Garage Sale - We are looking at the idea of having a garage sale, as it appears that many of us have good stuff to sell. Ideally, we need a parking lot in a good location where we can set-up tables under our Rotary canopies and sell the lot!
Do you have any fundraising ideas? I’d like to hear them!
