OCTOBER 2024
|
|
|
Dear Denison Families,
It was so wonderful to see so many of you on campus for Family Weekend! We welcomed over 1,200 family members to campus, and we definitely did not let a little rain ruin our fun! We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did and had the chance to spend some quality time with your student.
October is a month when students are in full academic mode, dedicating a lot of time and attention to exams, papers, assignments, and midterms. Especially as we near Fall Break (Oct. 17-18), it's a great time to check in with your student about how they’re managing their workload and reminding them of the resources available (professors' office hours, tutoring services, Writing Center, or study groups).
This month, we share highlights from September, promote some opportunities for you and for your student, and provide more information about campus shuttles and transportation.
Thank you for all you do for your student and for Denison!
Warmly,
Julie Tucker ’09
Director of Family Engagement

What an incredible weekend! During Family Weekend, families had the opportunity to experience life on campus, spend quality time with their students, and connect with fellow Denison families. They engaged with Denison’s outstanding faculty, cheered on Big Red student-athletes, enjoyed performances by our talented student artists, and capped off the weekend with live music at the Saturday night rock concert. Relive the weekend through our Family Weekend photo gallery!
Mark your calendars for next year's Family Weekend: Sept. 26-28, 2025.

Ask a Denisonian
Tapping into the power of Denison's network of 30,000+ alumni, students can ask a question, which is then answered by an alum with experience and background relevant to their ask. This often leads to in-person, Zoom, or phone conversations and expand students' Denison network.

If your student needs transportation to the airport for an upcoming break, we offer an airport shuttle service for $20 each way. Your student can view available options on WhatToDU, and sign-ups go live one month in advance. Email clic@denison.edu with any questions.

Host an Event: Let us know if you'd like to host a reception or an event near you, from our Denison Everywhere events to Summer Welcome Receptions for entering students and families.
Give to Denison: The generosity of parents, families and alums like you supports students and creates opportunities for the life-changing experiences you expect from Denison.
