The Soc(AI)ety Seminars, hosted by the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society, are a collection of talks with a vision for AI’s present and future impact on society, and inspire a dialogue on ethical and socially responsible Data & AI innovation.
Join us during Fall 2024 for exciting sessions as we host Subbarao Kambhampati, professor of Computer Science at Arizona State University and Connor Coley, the Class of 1957 Career Development Professor and associate professor at MIT.

Volunteer as a student mentor for the Health Equity Data Science Challenge!

Sign-up Deadline: August 30, 2024
|
We are looking for graduate students who are passionate about advancing health equity to serve as mentors for teams of undergraduate students for the Health Equity Data Science Challenge (Oct 7-Nov 15).
Mentors should be proficient in at least one data science programming language (ex. Python, R) and the expected total time commitment is ~5 hours, with optional participation in the closing reception and celebration. This is a great opportunity to guide students in exploring open research questions with real-world datasets.

Spend an evening overlooking the iconic field at Notre Dame Stadium as Michael Levitt, Ph.D., who won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, accepts the Rev. Carrier Medal.
Levitt is being honored for his groundbreaking work in developing accurate computer models of chemical reactions, integrating features of both classical physics and quantum mechanics. His lecture, "Multi-disciplinary Revolution in Biology and Artificial Intelligence," will underscore the critical role of collaboration that will drive the next revolution in biology and AI.
