Makenna Kelpman is a state champ!

Immense congratulations go out to freshman Makenna Kelpman who won the Class 1B/2B State Golf Championship on Wednesday at Tumwater Valley Golf Club.

Makenna shot a 5-over-par 77 in the first round Tuesday and a 3-over 75 on Wednesday to finish with a two-round total of 152, that was six strokes better than Pomeroy's Chase Caruso.

Kelpman took third as an eighth grader. She won every event she entered this season, producing one of the most dominant single seasons in school history in any sport.

Michael Kessel ties for 16th at state!

Junior Michael Kessel finished in a tie for 16th place at the Class 1B/2B State Golf Championships on Wednesday at Tumwater Valley Golf Club.

Kessel shot an 82 in Tuesday's first round and an 86 in Wednesday's second round to finish with a two-round total of 168. Northwest Christian (Colbert)'s Dan Harrington won the individual title with a two-round total of 153.

Last year, Kessel took 29th place and he took fifth at the district tournament last week.

Freshman Daniel Aubrey shot a 93 in the first round, but did not make the cut to play in the second round.

It's almost time to party!

Our annual Year-End Bash is right around the corner and we can't wait to see you there.

Welch, Arbogast and Davis leaving this summer

Abbie Welch, Rachel Arbogast and Matthew Davis will all be departing SCA this summer.

Abbie recently announced she has gotten engaged to be married. She will be moving with her spouse. Abbie has been an integral part of our high school faculty for three years and will be missed.

Rachel has a long history with our campus, including graduating from here in 1992. She has been our yearbook teacher, campus photographer and graphic design wizard in her four years with us. Her smiling face at nearly every event we host on campus will certainly be missed.

Matt has been a mainstay in our Middle School for the past three years, teaching Bible and helping out in a variety of other areas. His quirky style is well known on campus, and he will be missed as he moves forward with other opportunities.

It is an exciting time of change at SCA as we will be filling all three of these positions, as well as hiring and expanding our elementary classroom options. Please see all openings here and pass the word along to anyone who may be looking to work at the best Christian school in Tacoma.
