(SACRAMENTO, CA) - On behalf of California Exposition’s Board of Directors, Cal Expo CEO and General Manager Rick Pickering issued the following statement praising the Legislature for providing Cal Expo with the financial allocation necessary to continue limited operations for the 2020-21 fiscal year:
“The Cal Expo Board is grateful for the Legislature’s and the Governor’s commitment to keep Cal Expo open and to ensure we can continue to provide much-needed crisis response services. We are especially grateful to Senator Richard Pan, whose leadership and advocacy was essential in securing the financial allocation necessary to keep Cal Expo in operation for the 2020-21 fiscal year. We look forward to continuing to play a critical role in our state’s response to COVID-19, wildfires, and other emergencies, and we hope that Cal Expo can host events again soon, including in-person Republic games and next year’s State Fair.”
