On the heels of the election, CFN hosted its 13th Conservation Finance Roundtable in partnership with the Salazar Center and with support from the Gates Family Foundation. Held last month in Denver, CO, the event CO. The Roundtable brought together 65 practitioners to discuss both the challenges and opportunities facing the conservation community.
It was energizing to hear perspectives and share thoughts on a range of topics including: on the election, including the very strong bipartisan support for conservation at the state and local level as well as the need to celebrate the benefits conservation work can bring to rural communities; creative financing strategies to conserve water and land under way in the Colorado River Basin; innovative efforts to establish interim finance vehicles; and ways private capital is engaging in conservation, among other topics. Many thanks to participants and speakers.
We are grateful to the participants and speakers for their invaluable insights. We came away with fresh hope and resolve to continue and accelerate effective and innovative funding and financing solutions to our mounting environmental problems.
