On Thursday, Feb. 27, come support five Old Dominion University student teams as they pitch their ideas, products and concepts to a panel of judges for a chance to win up to $2,000. The second annual Opportunity Discovery Competition begins at 1 p.m. in the Strome Entrepreneurial Center with the finalist presentations, followed by an awards presentation and reception at 5 p.m. 

Old Dominion University (ODU) was well represented at the Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) Regional Conference in Richmond on February 21-22.

GIS is a student organization that promotes careers in risk management, insurance, and actuarial science.

ODU Students can major or minor in Risk Management and Insurance (RMI). This can be completed online and includes two courses that can count toward the CPCU designation.

According to the Forté Foundation — a non-profit focused on increasing the number of women in leadership through access to business education — eight of its 61 member schools reached gender balance among full-time MBA students in 2024.
