Greeting Friends!
2020 is fast coming to an end and we are excited as we prepare for our 25th Anniversary Celebration on 25 November 2020.
The IAM team was privileged to enjoy a team-building event where we were exposed to Voice Movement Therapy (VMT) facilitated by Hennie Pienaar in collaboration with Queers Without Borders - an exploration of the self through voice and movement.
On this journey, we were encouraged to explore the known and unknown, beautiful and not so beautiful facets of our beings, which we expressed through the sound of our voices and through movement. The theme was “the more we are able to express the more we become. The more we become, the more we are able to sustain and care for ourselves and others. The more we become, the easier it is to accept ourselves and others unconditionally, integrating both the light and darkness within us.”
These exercises were incredibly powerful. They assisted us to get out of our minds and into our bodies. We became aware of aspects of ourselves that we have forgotten and/or neglected. The experience has given us new perspectives and appreciation for one another and life, particularly within the COVID-19 context. We are grateful!
May you too be encouraged to find new appreciation for your life as we uphold the COVID-19 regulations to keep ourselves and others safe.
Blessings,
