RTSWS University Students Attend Events in New York and Chicago |
RTSWS Founder Maura Cunningham and Board Member Penny Novick participated in the NYU Stern Women in Business Female Founders Forum, sharing insights from their unique career paths and engaging in a thoughtful discussion with students.
In a full circle moment, the event featured RTSWS Alum Noelle Link, a former RTSWS student from Ravenwood High School in Nashville who took part in some of the earliest RTSWS sessions. Now working in private equity, Noelle reflected on how the program shaped her journey:
“RTSWS was the first program that opened my eyes to what a career in finance could look like. I still remember our class visit to a local investment firm and how it sparked my curiosity about the industry. That early introduction shaped the direction of my studies and, ultimately, my career path.”

Leading another conversation on career growth, mentorship and navigating the evolving finance landscape, Maura moderated the Fordham Gabelli School of Business Economics Club Finance Panel.
The discussion explored how self-advocacy, adaptability and emerging technologies like AI are shaping the next generation of financial leaders, followed by a networking session with students, alumni and professors.

In Chicago, we joined The Alzenia Project to host Women in Leadership & The Great Wealth Transfer; an afternoon that brought together Northwestern University students and mentors for conversation, connection and inspiration.
RTSWS CEO Ashley Leftwich led fireside chats and opened with a resonant message: “Investing is more than numbers; it’s a language of possibility.” The program featured examples of the power of Financial & Investing fundamentals, along with insights from Cynthia Plouché, founder of The Alzenia Project and Cary Carbonaro, award-winning financial planner and author, who generously gifted each attendee a copy of her most recent book.

RTSWS Alumni speakers included Lexi Caravati of Northwestern, who shared, “RTSWS supported me from high school through college and now as I plan my career. That kind of impact makes a world of difference.”
While Rakayla Campbell a graduate of Loyola University Chicago reflected, “RTSWS gave me the tools to understand and the confidence to start asking questions. The mentorship was the best part, with accomplished women dedicating their time to guide us.”
These events represent the spirit of RTSWS, bridging generations, expanding opportunities, and building confidence for young women to lead in finance and beyond.
