Dear Friends,
Greetings and congratulations to our dear graduating class of 2022. A warm welcome to the Emory alumni community. I hope everyone is finding time for rest and relaxation as we ease into these summer months. As we settle in, I’d love to share some exciting updates around Hindu Life at Emory.
The spring semester brought the Hindu community some wonderful opportunities for gathering and worship. OSRL hosted a lovely visit to the Hindu Temple of Atlanta on the eve of Mahashivratri where we had a chance to witness and offer a Rudra Abhishekam. This was soon followed by the Hindu Students Association’s japa mala-making session in Cannon Chapel. Soon after, the HSA celebrated Holi at the Campus Life Pavilion where everyone had an opportunity to brainstorm and write down things they were ready to let go of before symbolically casting their papers into the Holi fire. The celebrations were even featured on Emory’s Instagram page. The month of April brought us one of HSA’s signature events, Akbar’s court, which took shape in the form of lively interfaith discussions and a delicious dinner. And finally, to round out the semester, we brought back the tradition of Senior’s Saraswati Puja, a special puja to the Goddess of Knowledge dedicated to our graduating class.
