October 19th

I am all alone. Lost in the big woods, so hungry. Just an itty bitty girl, so cold and afraid.
Where am I? Which way do I go? And then...I heard it...in the distance, the sound of barking dogs.  Would they have food there? Would they share with me? I wouldn't ask for much.. I'm just an itty bitty girl. My fear  is now a  purpose as I turned, running now towards the sound of the barking, the happy barking dogs.

October 26th

It took me a week before I found my way to a red gate. Peeking thru the bars, there they were...those happy barking dogs, running and playing. Then one of them spotted me and came to the gate as if to welcome me. He was a scurffy fellow with only three legs. "Come be with us" he said, barking so happily. Just then I saw a man heading towards me, looking at me. Oh No! I was so scared and ran back in he woods. The man tried looking for me, but I was so itty bitty he couldn't find me. But then, I saw the man bring out a bowl of water, and a bowl of food, and then a soft warm bed leaving them right where he saw me. Where was this place I found? Could I really now be safe? My heart wanted to believe it, but I was still so scared and avoided the man everytime he came out looking for me.

October 30th

I saw the man put a strange metal thing down on the ground with a trail of kibble leading to it.  I didn't hesitate, following the food I found myself inside and then I heard the trap door come down. I was caught! Scared but then kind of relieved.  I just sat down and surrendered to my fate to tired to go on. The man came and gently brought me inside to a place called, Shadows Rest. I can't believe it,  I am now warm, safe from coyotes,I've got food and water, a soft blanket and people who keep loving on me and telling me how pretty I am.

Nov 5th

Hi Everybody, just a note to let you know that I am doing fine.  I've made lots of friends here. I have a doctor, her name is Dr. Michelle and she looked me over and said I am doing good.  She guessed my age between 1-2 and this little Cheweenie might just be around 5-6 pounds.  Oh, and I even have a name now...can you guess it???
It's Itty Bitty!!!!!!
Larry and I were amazed to find this picture on one of his trail cameras miles away from the rescue. How this little one found her way to us can only be a miracle or maybe even divine intervention? We are so happy though she did.  She is a sweet girl, needs to get her spay surgery and then will be available for adoption.  We know we won't have her long.  She is so precious.
Thank you for letting us share her story.
Thank you for helping the homeless!
