Winter Soccer on Pause

Hi OCSC Families,
Happy New year!

I’m light of recent announcements from the Province related to new COVID restrictions made today, we wanted to keep you up to date on what this means for the OCSC.

Effective January 3rd, all OCSC programming will be paused until at least January 26th when facilities are set to re-open.

This few-week pause is based on information currently available and can change at any given time. Our go-forward plans will be dependent on facilities re-opening and any guidance/directives provided by our governing bodies (Government of Ontario, Ottawa Public Health, Ontario Soccer).

We understand how challenging this has been to our program and we appreciate your patience & understanding over the past few weeks. We appreciate everything our Coaches have done to keep our players both active & safe!!

This is disappointing for so many, but know that we will get through this together and we will return from this in an effort to finish our Winter programs.

We will keep you up to date on the latest during this time should new developments occur.
Once we have a definite return date, we will communicate plans for missed sessions at that time.

Thanks, everyone for your patience and understanding.

Welcome, Isla Naude to the OCSC family!

Eduan and his wife Marlize welcomed Isla Kathleen Naude at 12:56pm on the 4th of January 2022!

Congratulations Marlize and Eduan!

Canada Soccer Youth Club Licensing Program

Canada Soccer has announced the Q4 2021 cohort of new club entrants into its National Youth Club Licensing Program. The addition of 80 clubs includes Quality Soccer Provider and Member Association Level 1 levels of the program in Quebec as well as new entrants from Ontario and Alberta.

“We applaud the efforts of all involved in the work to join Canada Soccer’s Youth Club Licensing Program which is an ambitious standards-based classification program implemented to drive club development in Canadian soccer,” said Dr. Nick Bontis, Canada Soccer President. “The admission of the remaining Quebec-based clubs and continued growth of the program ensures that safe sport and inclusivity pillars are embedded in the fabric of clubs and academies across the country and that participants are in developmentally appropriate training environments from coast-to-coast.”
