COVID PROTOCOLS UPDATE, INCLUDING MASKING

After careful consideration and following the masking guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the NYS Department of Health, there have been a few changes to some of our COVID protocols. Among them, patients, visitors and nonclinical staff within all areas of our health system will be encouraged, but not required, to wear masks.

Nicholas Smith Named March's Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities (URECA) Researcher of the Month

Congratulations to Nicholas Smith, a senior in the Honors College majoring in Human Evolutionary Biology. For his senior honors thesis, he is currently working under the direction of Dr. Paul Kelton, Department of History, to research the origins of the 1918 influenza pandemic.

WHAT'S 'COOKING' AROUND CAMPUS
Summer 2023 Kids Cooking and Nutrition Workshop
The Department of Family, Population and Preventive Medicine presents a Cooking and Nutrition Workshop for kids ages 7-10. Kids will harvest produce directly from the Stony Brook Heights rooftop farm at our Stony Brook University Hospital, and use the vegetables to prepare healthy and delicious recipes. They'll learn kitchen safety and etiquette, how to read and follow recipes, and how to make and enjoy healthy meals. Registration is open now!  Don't wait; classes fill up quickly! Questions?
