Thank YOU for Participating in Rise 'n Shine!

Our 4th annual Rise 'n Shine Summer Races event went virtual! With the help of this year's generous sponsors, we were able to provide a seamless transition to a virtual event in which our participants could register for their race and run it wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted! Take a look at our website for more information, participant photos, and unofficial results. All proceeds from the event benefit the Financial Assistance Program, which ensures everyone has a chance to experience all the YMCA has to offer.

Here Comes September!

Summer comes to an end, but work at the Y never stops! Like you, we are looking forward to hearing more from our governor very soon. When she makes an announcement regarding the opening of gyms, we will evaluate how it applies to our facility and put a plan into action. We promise to share the details with our members as soon as possible!
At this time our fitness floors are still closed, but we continue to offer health and wellness and childcare options that are within the limitations of the executive orders. These opportunities include:
  • Remote Learning Support
  • Fall Youth Sports leagues and camps
  • Adult Cornhole League
  • Swim Lessons
  • Outdoor Group Exercise
  • Nutrition Counseling
  • Personal Training options
  • Free Youth Food Program

Care & Support for a Virtual School Start

As the school year starts virtually, find the care and support you need for your students to excel this year with the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA's new Remote Learning Support Program! Our YMCA afterschool and summer camp staff will supervise and provide limited assistance to students tackling their school year online. School work will be completed from 7am-3pm with "Brain Breaks" throughout to refocus minds and redistribute energy. From 3pm-6pm, our regular afterschool programming will take place. Learn more about this opportunity on our website. Students from all school districts are welcome to attend. Contact Lacey Wright at lwright@ymcabaycity.org to register or to ask questions.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Outdoor Group Exercise

You may have already taken one of our outdoor group exercise classes or perhaps you've been wanting to try one! We are now opening our Outdoor Group Exercise classes to non-members as well! We do require that you reserve your spot and pay $5 per class for members and $7 per class for non-members. Follow this link to learn more, check out our current schedule, and to reserve your spot!

Virtual & Outdoor Personal Training

Never. Stop. Moving! Team up with one of our personal trainers and start meeting your fitness and wellness goals! We are currently providing virtual and outdoor personal training. Your trainer will have select access to equipment such as dumbbells and barbells with plates and provide ample in-person motivation through outdoor personal training. Through virtual personal training, your trainer will first meet with you over the phone or through Zoom to learn more about the equipment you have, your goals, and your fitness level. Then, your trainer will provide workouts with instruction and meet with you regularly to ensure you are on the right path. Either way, we want to see you succeed!
Free Youth Food Program
The Free Youth Food Program continues to operate in our north parking lot for youth ages 18 years old or younger. Families can visit our north parking lot, across from City Hall, underneath the purple tent Monday through Friday from 11am to 12pm to receive one lunch meal per child. Children must be present at this time to receive meals. We have seen a great need for meals in our community and have served over 60,000 meals to youth since our facility closed in March!
