What is the future of OD? This question is a hot topic: one that is actively being discussed among OD scholars and practitioners. We would like to contribute to the dialogue this year through our Network News. What is your perspective? Where do you want our field to go? How will the actions we take now shape the future of our field? With this article, we introduce our plan for a series of articles and “op ed” pieces featuring the thoughts, ideas and opinions of our OD Network members and thought leaders on the future of OD. We want to hear from you. If you have an article to submit or would like the chance to write one for our newsletter, please contact us at communication@odnetork.org. Join the conversation. The Future of OD — One Practitioner's View by Cindy Miller, OD Network Board Member

The wisdom and practice of the Organization Development profession is needed now more than ever. We must be open to the ways OD practices are spreading and welcome the broadening interest in our field. The OD skill set has traditionally been closely held by educated experts who have honed their craft through research and client work over time. These scholars and practitioners have invested deeply, given generously and are held in high regard with respect and admiration. We need OD experts. We learn from them. They inspire us and they always will.
