Unearthing stories long buried
Assistant Professor of Anthropology Alicia Odewale has spent the past few years uncovering invaluable truths about the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. Her National Geographic LIVE series titled "Greenwood, a Century of Resilience" emphasizes Black power and Black survival in the event of a tragedy. Odewale's archeological abilities emphasize much the same: "It's left to the next generation to carry the story forward. One of the small things that I can do is use my skills in archaeology to tell the story in a new way."
