Greer Named Course Director for Academy Assessment Program |

The Academy of Educators is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Sara Greer as the Course Director for the Developing Faculty Competencies in Assessment course, a 3-day certificate program set to launch in Spring 2025. This course aims to promote and enhance WUSM faculty participants' skills in the clinical assessment of trainees in the workplace. Dr. Greer will officially begin her role on 10/1/24.

The call for applications for Loeb Teaching Fellows is open. The program, established by a generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. Loeb, provides fellows with the time and opportunity to develop and implement innovative ideas that augment the education of medical students, residents and fellows.
Two (2) Loeb Teaching Fellowships will be supported jointly by the BJH Foundation and WashU Medicine. Fellows receive $50,000 per year for two years for salary compensation ONLY to enable time for development and implementation of their project and direct teaching of medical students and/or residents/fellows.

WashU Students Recognized for Innovative Efforts |

Congratulations to these medical students who have achieved great success in healthcare innovation. Patrick Donohue, Class of '25, (far left) received $50,000 in funding from WashU's Big Ideas: A Data-Driven Innovation Competition. Heath Rutledge-Jukes, Class of '27, (center left) received $25,000 as the winner of Skandalaris' Global Impact Award, and $75,000 from Arch Grants. Heath is the co-founder of King of the Curve, a high-quality test prep and was recognized by St. Louis Business Journal as an Inno Under 25 (awarded in 2023). Dani Wilder, Class of '26, (center right) was awarded $10,000 from the Skandalaris Venture Competition and is also one of the honorees for St. Louis Business Journal's Inno Under 25. Dani also is co-founder of nCase Technologies, a Narcan carrying case. Samuel Brehm, Class of '26, (far right) is one of the 2024 St. Louis Business Journal's Inno Under 25. Samuel is president of Sling Health, a student-run healthcare accelerator, and the inventor of several innovative neurosurgical devices.
