Parents,
Thank you for a great Friday Night Lightning at the Upper School on Friday. The students had a wonderful time and we loved seeing their personalities shine. We appreciate the many volunteers who helped make it happen.
We look forward to the Lower School Costume Parade on Tuesday, October 31st. The parade will start around 1:40. Students will exit the building and walk around the front of the building. Parents, grandparents, etc are welcome to come by and stand on the sidewalks across the street to cheer on the students. It will last about 10-15 minutes.
We are excited to announce another community movie night event on Friday, November 10th. We hope you will come out and enjoy some time as a school community and also support our 8th graders who are raising money for their spring Jekyll Island trip.
Last week some youths from the neighborhood, not associated with Normal Park, vandalized the new basketball goal at the Upper School. We have filed a police report and have requested maintenance to come and clean up the mess. We love that our facilities are open to the neighborhood and expect them to be used properly. As you utilize the facilities, please take extra care to leave them in the same condition or better when you leave. If you see someone not respecting our property, please report it. We have invested a lot of money in new outdoor playgrounds and spaces. We have cameras that are always watching and appreciate those using the facilities properly.
Let’s make it a great week!

Important NP Information
Magnet parents: Please check your email. The sibling preference form was emailed home on October 19th and must be returned to Normal Park by December 8th. Siblings of our current K-7th grade magnet students are given preference above the general population for a magnet seat at Normal Park for the 2024-25 school year (as space allows) .
IMPORTANT NOTE: you must also complete the online magnet lottery application for that sibling through your PowerSchool parent portal for admission and sibling preference to be granted. The magnet application window runs from November 13, 2023 - January 31, 2024. You do not need to fill out a magnet application each year for your current student - only for a sibling who would be new to Normal Park.

MUSIC NEWSIt was a delight to take four fifth grade students from Normal Park Upper to sing in the 2023 Hamilton Sings concert. Kate Studer, Riley Babcock, Harrison Withers, and Claire O'Shaughnessy were chosen to participate in this amazing opportunity. We are so proud of you and all your hard work as well as your part in sharing the beauty of choral singing with all who were able to attend. Thank you so much,
