Greetings TBS familes!
I've been in this new position for just a few weeks now and I'm so excited to be working with your students and helping them to start planning for their futures early!
A couple of things to note:
  • FAFSA Seniors, if you have not yet done your FAFSA I encourage you to do so asap.  Contact me if you need assistance. studentaid.gov

  • SAT or ACT Testing  TBS requires each student takes their SAT or ACT as part of their graduation requirements.  Seniors, if you have not done so yet, REGISTER TODAY!  Juniors, I would encourage you to take the SAT or ACT this spring as well.  You can always retake it over the summer or again in the fall if you would like to. Find out more about your test options on our website
I am making it a goal to meet with every student in our high school throughout the year to see how I can best meet their needs as well as start to prepare them for their life after high school!  If you need to contact me for any reason, you can reach me at areinmuth@tacomabaptist.org or call 253-475-7226 x106

Thinking of an Apprenticeship?

Are you looking to go straight into an apprenticeship following high school?  Learn more about the apprenticeship opportunities here in Washington by visiting the WA State Dept of Labor & Industries Apprentice Preparation webpage.

Did you know?

TBS has an entire webpage dedicated to college scholarships and financial aid!  There are so many more scholarships available than those highlighted below.  Check the website often for updates and new opportunities.
Highlighted Scholarships & Financial Aid:
Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship - The Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship is designed to reward students who demonstrate good citizenship while striving to attain their academic goals. Applicants will be judged on their academic merit, extracurricular achievements--both scholastically and in their community--and financial need.  Each award is worth $2,500 and winners will be notified in April.
(Contact Mrs. Reinmuth for an application & more information)
Washington College Grant - The new Washington College Grant (WCG) gives more money to more students for more kinds of education after high school.
Washington College Grant can help you access many types of education and training:
  • Public and private colleges and universities
  • Workforce and training programs
  • Approved apprenticeship programs
WCG is not reserved for valedictorians or athletes. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you have money waiting for you. An eligible student from a family of four making up to around $97,000 per year can receive some money for their education.

The only way to know for sure whether you qualify is to apply for financial aid. Applications for the 2021-22 academic year are now open.
