Blackboard Collaborate Ultra   Decommissioning

Collaborate Ultra will be decommissioned from the Kennesaw State University campus on October 1, 2021.
Users are advised to transition to Microsoft Teams and Zoom in advance of this decommissioning.

Asset Management Available Through Online Portal

UITS is excited to be rolling out Asset Service Management (ASM).  It is now available within ServiceNow.  We encourage you to follow the instructions in this document for any asset management needs going forward.

Qualtrics Classic Reports Ends March 31

Qualtrics has an improved and modern reporting experience. With the availability of Advanced Reports to all users, Qualtrics is decommissioning Classic Reports on March 31st, 2021.
After March 31st, you will lose access to any reports which were created with Classic Reports, including scheduled emails and public reports. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to rebuild reports on the Advanced Reports platform and to download a PDF copy of existing reports you wish to keep.

Important Change Coming for Zoom Users

Any KSU email account (@students.kennesaw.edu or @kennesaw.edu) will be required to log on through the single-sign-on page (domain: kennesaw-edu) with KSU credentials (KSU email and KSU password) beginning May 14, 2021. 


New Features Available in Microsoft Teams

Have Small Group Chats With Breakout Rooms
With the KSU community looking for ways to encourage meaningful discussion, there is a need for groups to break out into smaller discussion cohorts. Luckily, you can get just that with breakout rooms in Teams meetings. Organizers can learn how to set up breakout rooms via the Windows or Mac desktop app at use breakout rooms in Teams meetings.
You’ve Been Approved! 
Use the Approvals app in Teams to streamline requests and processes with teammates and partners. Create requests, view ones sent to you, and view all past approval requests in one place. Watch a quick video to get up to speed on how it all works.

Planner is Now Teams Task List 
Create and track work for your team with the new task publishing feature in the Tasks app. 

Set the Scene with Together Mode
We’ve got new scenes for your next meeting in Together Mode! Take your team from the auditorium to a world of 8-bit pixels, a winter wonderland, or under the sea. To change the scene once you’re in Together Mode, select "Change Scene" in the bottom left corner of your meeting.
Express Yourself!
Let your colleagues know what you're thinking when you express yourself with action emojis! These emojis can be found immediately to the left of the "raise hand" button on the desktop app.

Take Attendance with iClicker Cloud

Did you know that iClicker Cloud can be used to take attendance both during virtual sessions and in-classroom sessions?
To use iClicker Cloud:
1. Start your virtual meeting as usual.
2. Pause your meeting at some point and say "let's take attendance."
3. Start an attendance check-in window in your iClicker Cloud account.
4. Your participants use the free app to "check-in" and attendance records are recorded and kept; streamlining the process for instructors.

Spring Cybersecurity Training

The UITS Office of Cybersecurity will be holding four online sessions in April as part of our mandatory Cybersecurity awareness training. This is in addition to the mandatory training required by the USG that must be completed by the end of the year. This training is required of all faculty and staff and will cover the latest threats to and protection of your data. The training will be interactive and will include a Q&A session with the KSU Cybersecurity team. We will also offer a non-interactive, recorded version that will count toward the training completion. Please keep an eye out for more details soon in KSU Today.
