Dear Cub Family,
It has already become apparent to me that the absolute best part of U-High is our people. Joining a school steeped in more than 100 years of excellence, I'm sure you can imagine that no matter where I go, I seem to encounter current and former members of our community, all of whom are eager and happy to share rich memories and traditions that span decades.
Every one of those encounters, including my most recent with UHS 1967 alumnus and senior class president Mr. Colley Joseph, is an absolute pleasure. Thank you all and please keep those stories coming!
A good bit of my time this past week has been dedicated to preparations for the upcoming school year. The ULS administrative team, along with our faculty and staff, look forward to welcoming students to the 2021-2022 school year on August 11. Our current parents and students will receive communications on our opening plans next week.
Additionally, LSU School of Social Work Director Dr. Pam Monroe, LSU Coordinator of School Counseling Concentration Dr. Stephanie Eberts, and I met this week to begin the process of reestablishing internship opportunities for college students from both degree programs within our school. Such collaborations go to the heart of our school's Mission and Vision and simultaneously benefit our most important constituents, our students, by broadening the scope and breadth of services available to them.
Thank you to the 107 community members who have completed the Director's Plan Feedback Form and the additional 331 who have begun a submission. Please submit! The input shared is valued and appreciated. For your convenience, links to my 100-Day Plan and Feedback Form are included at the end of this email. The Feedback Form will be available through September 18.
As always, thank you all for your time and dedication to our school.
Sincerely,
Kevin R. George
