Quarantine and Testing
Here are additional details about the quarantine requirement and answers to many of the questions we are anticipating:
-
Students who are in quarantine may leave their quarantine location to get tested, but should follow all safety precautions and return directly to their quarantine location following testing.
Unvaccinated students who live in university housing on the Oxford campus are expected to quarantine in their assigned residence hall room. In case of a positive COVID-19 test, they will be moved to a separate isolation location on campus.
Unvaccinated students who live off-campus are expected to quarantine at their residence.
If the seven-day quarantine period causes students to miss classes during the first week of the semester, they should email each of their instructors to notify them of their situation. Faculty are expected to make accommodations for students who are in quarantine and unable to attend class.
We recognize that this information is a change from what we had previously indicated regarding quarantine expectations. We have learned over the past year and a half that the COVID-19 situation is continually changing and requires us to be adaptable. The safety of our community is our highest priority.
We look forward to a successful fall semester!
Sincerely,
Molly Heidemann
