   BUSINESS CAREER FAIR
All students, especially business majors, are invited to attend the Business Career Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, and Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the University Union Emerald Ballroom 314. This recruiting event is a great opportunity to land an internship or a part-time or full-time job. Register on Handshake and bring multiple copies of your résumé to network with future employers. It is highly recommended that you dress in professional, business attire.
If you need business attire, the Career Center is partnering with JCPenney to host the Suit-Up Event from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at JCPenney in the Golden Triangle Mall. Update your professional wardrobe with up to 50% off select career-wear, shoes and accessories. Receive an additional 30% off when you check in with your UNT student ID at the event.

   EAGLE ALERT TEST
A test of UNT's Eagle Alert system is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 8. The system notifies the UNT community about emergency situations that are ongoing and university closings. Eagle Alert sends text and voice messages by phone and displays a full-screen alert on computers and presentation screens. UNT students should check their contact information and update if needed at my.unt.edu ("profile" tile).
Flag runners on the football field
   TRADITIONS OF SPIRIT
If you’ve ever been to a UNT football or basketball home game, you’ve seen our flag runners charge along the field or court with giant North Texas flags. This tradition encourages fans to show their spirit by getting loud in support of our Mean Green teams. Make sure to show your Mean Green Pride at the next football home game Saturday, Sept. 30, by cheering and chanting for UNT when you see the flag runners take the field!

  UNT MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE
On Sept. 1, UNT announced an increase to the student employee minimum wage to $9.25 per hour. Student workers receiving the current hourly wage will see the increase reflected on their Oct. 1 paycheck for the Sept. 1 to Sept. 15 pay period, and all future pay periods. The wage increase will not affect students who earn more than $9.25 per hour.
Thank you to all our UNT student employees for their contribution to the success of the Mean Green community!

   STUDENT VETERAN SERVICES
Denton’s VFW post members, along with their families, presented UNT’s Student Veteran Services with a $25,000 endowment to provide scholarships for student veterans at the university. The historic gift also will help connect students and local VFW members through events like family nights and career fairs, including a Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Denton VFW Post 2205. All UNT students are invited to meet employers and learn about future career opportunities.
