Last Call: Spiritual Formation Retreat Registration Ends Today! |
Registration for the BYM Spiritual Formation Fall Retreat is now open! Friends will gather at the Claggett Center in Adamstown, MD the weekend of September 20-22. To Live in Hope — Exploring Pathways to Spiritual Resilience will be our theme as we gather for times of reflection and renewal, for quiet and sharing in spiritual friendships, for being reminded that we are never truly alone. Spiritual nurture funds are available through both local Meetings and through the Yearly Meeting. The retreat welcomes all of us who seek a deeper life in and with Spirit. Questions? | How does/will your Meeting promote the INTL. Day of Peace? or Campaign Nonviolence?
|
The BYM Peace and Social Concerns Committee asks our Meetings to consider ways to honor and promote the International Day of Peace on or around September 21. Established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly, and in 2001, designated as a period of non-violence and cease-fire, numerous peace groups have extended this day to a period of action and reflection concluding on the UN Day of Nonviolence, Oct. 2, and called “ Campaign Nonviolence.” According to https://paceebene.org/action-days, the theme this year is “Building a culture of peace.”

Anonymous Letter Not from BYM
|
Friends may recently have received an unsigned letter about demonstrating for peace in the conflict in Palestine and Israel. This letter had the BYM Office in the return address area. It appears an individual sent this mailing to all Monthly Meetings. However, we want to clarify that this anonymous letter was not sent from BYM or by any BYM staff or Committee member. Thank you for your understanding.
