Wisconsin 4-H is offering a Tomato Project Box (similar to the "Cooking with Meat" Project Box) to all 3-6th graders, which will dive into tomatoes, specifically focusing on planting, cooking, and storytelling. Youth will be able to experiment with planting in different light conditions, try international recipes, and connect with other participants. Three special Zoom sessions will take place on Thursdays, 6-7PM, in April and May.
The last zoom session will feature Dr. Brian Hudelson giving a virtual tour of his clinic where he diagnoses plant diseases at UW-Madison. Dr. Hudelson is so passionate about plant diseases that he designed and built LEGO® models of several types of common diseases. Youth will have an opportunity to either interact in person with other participants or via Zoom to build an example of end blossom rot.
Youth/families can register here. The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and the UW-Madison Plant Disease Diagnostic Clinic are sponsoring this distance learning series.
