Announcing Dates for the 2020 Expo! The USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo will return to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC on April 25-26, 2020! Sneak Peek Friday, the ultimate STEM field trip, will offer students and teachers the opportunity to experience the Expo before the general public on Friday, April 24, 2020.

Registration for X-STEM DC 2019 is now open! X-STEM DC 2019 – presented by NCR Foundation – is an Extreme STEM symposium for middle through high school students featuring interactive presentations by an exclusive group of visionaries who aim to empower and inspire kids about careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These STEM role models and industry leaders are sure to ignite your students’ curiosity through storytelling and live demonstrations. Click here to register.

Kafui Dzirasa, M.D., Ph.D. - This groundbreaking psychiatrist and neuroscientist is helping to lead what many are calling the next future breakthrough in brain research – the better understanding and treatment of mental illness. 

Mireya Mayor, Ph.D. – Intrepid as she is dedicated, this primatologist and correspondent for the National Geographic Channel is known as the “female Indiana Jones” as she travels to far-flung regions of the Earth to study and conserve endangered primates.
Christian Hubicki, Ph.D. – This prominent robotics research scientist is tackling one of the most challenging problems in his field: creating robots that walk and run on two legs like humans!


Erin Macdonald, Ph.D. – In her must-see stage show demonstrating the “science behind science fiction,” this aerospace engineer combines her childhood love of sci-fi with her seasoned experience in science to ignite the excitement of kids about STEM!
Justin Shaifer – Saying, “Kids are more likely to do something when they see someone who looks like them doing it,” this well-known science educator and Executive Director of Fascinate, Inc., is using the same principle to attract more underrepresented students to STEM careers through his exciting outreach program on wheels called the ‘Magic Cool Bus”.

The theme for the 2020 Expo is "Vision for STEM" as we celebrate nearly a decade of the Festival and turn our focus towards the future of education and employment in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
