| NIH's Data Management (DMS) & Sharing Plan
The NIH Data Management & Sharing DMS Policy applies to all research, funded or conducted in whole or in part by NIH, that results in the generation of scientific data.
Under the DMS policy, NIH expects that investigators and institutions:
- Plan and budget for the managing and sharing of data
- Submit a DMS plan for review when applying for funding
- Comply with the approved DMS plan

Planning a proposal submission in the next 2-3 months?
In an effort to better serve you, the PMI grants team requests that PIs and Fellows notify us as far in advance as possible of submission plans. This ensure ample time to complete departmental requirements and also route to OSP for review, by their deadline.
