We hope you had a great time Friday evening at the End of the Year Bash presented by the Board of Directors.

I know we as a staff had a great time.

Delicious food produced by our very own Kim Young. A bouncy house, slide, cornhole and cotton candy thanks to Merry Makers. Bliss Ice Cream serving up delicious treats. And most of all, a chance to celebrate a tremendous school year with our community.

Thank you for coming and for being the best community we could ask for!

Graduation is Friday and you are invited

The Sound Christian Academy community is cordially invited to the 54th Annual Graduation Ceremony scheduled for 7pm Friday in the Douglas E. Bond Gymnasium.

We will be celebrating the culmination of a long journey for 14 of our students.

We hope to see you there!

A few weeks ago at the Spring Concert and Art Showcase, the Multi-Lanague Learners Club read a series of Bible verses in 11 different languages.

Thank you, Coach Taz!

SCA football coach Jon Randall stepped down this week because of a family health situation.

Coach Taz, as he was known on campus, wrote the following:

"I cannot thank you enough, Sound Christian Academy, for all of the support that you have given me the past two years. ... The players have been beyond the task. The Lions have done everything that I have asked them to do and I have truly been honored to have been their coach.

"I was allowed to express my faith in Jesus Christ along with the chance to develop young men, using football as the tool. I am truly thankful to have had that opportunity."

A search for a new football coach is underway.

Sandefur to resign this month

Middle School science teacher and STEM Department Chair Mike Sandefur announced this week that he is resigning at the end of the school year to pursue other opportunities.

Sandefur spent eight years at Sound Christian and will be missed.

Thank you Lakewood Police

This was one police visit we didn't mind.

The Lakewood Police Department escorted the Norquist family to school last week and then showed off two patrol cars and their armored Bat Mobile.

Students received donuts, a chance to tour the vehicles and learned what it was like to be put in handcuffs.

A memorable visit for sure!

The annual Senior Awards Assembly was Friday and we had a lot of deserving students take home hardware.

2021-22 Yearbook design wins award

All three of our 2022 yearbooks were entered into a national contest by the printing company and the High School yearbook titled "Roaring into a New Era" was named honorable mention!

BASC will be open June 8 and 9

Not sure what to do with your student the last two days of school when there is early release? Before and After School Care has you covered.

We are offering care from 11:30am-6pm on June 8 and 9.

Hourly rates apply and students must bring a packed lunch as the cafeteria will be closed.
