SCA Movie Night coming up
On behalf of the Sophomore Class of 2025 you are invited you to a very special event - A Theater Movie Night! The Sophomores have rented out the Blue Mouse Theater, and selected The Lorax as the featured film.
The Lorax is a heart warming, child-friendly film, that can be enjoyed by the whole family! Our hope is that families will come out and we will have a big group of people to enjoy a fun memory with. (Parents would need to stay with elementary)
This is a fundraiser for our hardworking sophomores, so we are asking for a mandatory donation of $5-7, (to cover costs and save a seat) but of course feel free to donate more!
- When: Friday, April 28th 6:00- 9:00PM
- Where: Blue Mouse Theatre | 2611 N Proctor St, Tacoma, WA
- Any other questions can be directed to Class Advisor Miss Keller, who will be present helping the officers with this event.
- Donations can be made by card or cash, and tickets picked up in the High School Office.
- Guaranteed tickets need to be purchased by the afternoon of the 28th.
Possibly, but not guaranteed cash sales at the door for any remainder tickets.
Thank you so much for your consideration, we hope to see you there!!

Five more hosts needed!
We are hosting Japanese exchange students for a short-term stay from May 19-22.
Shukutoku Sugamo Junior High in Tokyo takes all of their 130 9th graders to Seattle for their annual school trip each year. We have agreed to host 35 students and need five more families willing to host two students each.
Stipends will be provided to host families to help offset the cost of hosting.
Host families provide
- A warm and supportive atmosphere
- Room and board (note: students can share a room with a host sibling of the same gender, but must have a separate bed. Air mattresses are acceptable).
- Transportation: Pick up stduents on Friday afternoon and drop them off Monday morning
Host families receive
- The opportunity to make lasting friendships and learn about another culture
- An international experience without ever leaving home
- The chance to make a difference in an exchange student's life
- Comprehensive support and assistance from program coordinators throughout the program
- $30 per student, per night stipend
If you are interested, please contact Yulia Brubaker, the head of our International Students Program.

Please slow down
We recently received some complaints from neighbors to the school about the speed of drivers to and from the school, especially on 66th street.
As a reminder, please stick to the 25 mph speed limit while in the neighborhoods around the school.

Kids sick? Keep them home, please
While COVID is over (apparently) we still ask that you keep your students home if they are under the weather.
Guarding against outbreaks of flu, colds or other illnesses will better set our students and staff up for success.
Thank you.
