The Common Human Resources System (CHRS) is being implemented at all Cal State Universities. In the future, we will all use a single HR system and database with standardized data and business processes.
When is it coming?
Project meetings began in April 2023 and the system will go live in November of 2024. CHRS is a large-scale work effort that will take approximately 18 months to implement.
Who will be affected?
CHRS will bring changes in the way that faculty, staff and administrators do some facets of their jobs. Processes and procedures will be changing. Further communications will let you know exactly what to expect.
Why is this happening?
By using one HR system instead of 24, there is significant cost mitigation. In addition, standardized data will allow for enhanced reporting, and some HR self-service tasks can be performed on a mobile device. These are just a few of the benefits of CHRS.
