Last month, LA Family Housing hosted a Job Fair designed to support participants in our community who are transitioning out of homelessness and working toward rebuilding their lives. We know that the hunt for a job is never an easy task, and our team wanted to ensure participants had the resources and encouragement they need every step of the way.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our Regional Coordination team, more than 60 participants were connected with potential employers, housing services, and on-site resume support. By bringing together opportunity, guidance, and hope under one roof, we continue to walk alongside our community on the path toward stability and independence.

Unsheltered homelessness in L.A. County has dropped 14% in the last two years - a sign of real progress. But with recent and upcoming budget cuts at the county, state, and even federal level, providers warn that this progress is at risk. Continued support is critical to keep moving forward.

The L.A. region’s homeless services agency has been crafting a message for family services providers on how to deliver bad news to families experiencing homelessness: Due to funding cuts, they’re out of housing.

The Los Angeles County Emergency Centralized Response Center launched in January with a goal of better coordinating homeless services. The dispatch center helps coordinate outreach, cleanups, and housing placements. Officials say the new centralized system makes it easier to get people off the streets and into housing.

Earlier this summer, HOKA’s Studio City store hosted a Community Run to benefit LA Family Housing, Proceeds from the event provided over 80 pairs of new shoes for the families we serve. We’re so grateful to HOKA for helping our participants take their next steps with confidence. 

On Thursday, September 18, LA Family Housing will be hosting our 14th annual Golf Tournament at the beautiful, desert style Angeles National Golf Club. We will enjoy another year of golf, great food, and giving in support of our mission. Please join us and help "putt" an end to homelessness!
