Honoring and giving back to our active duty and veteran military brides
Honoring and giving back to our active duty and veteran military brides
Dear Friends, Clients & Colleagues,

We hope this note finds you well.

Today as part of #ThankfulThursday, Marile and I reflect and give thanks for the charitable work of the American Red Cross.

This past Sunday, April 15, 2018 we had the privilege of meeting aproxiamtly 10 military brides to be for a special American Red Cross event featuring Maria Elena Headpieces.

As a board member it was an honor and a pleasure to see the American Red Cross at work. It was an even greater honor to see my daughter Annia continue the family tradition of service and philanthropy.
Annia is a junior at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy with over 400 service hours. Every year Annia volunteers at organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade and the Miami Children's Hospital. This year, Annia has focused her passion for service by creating an event which brought the joy of Maria Elena Headpieces to military brides through the help of the American Red Cross.

Maria Elena Headpieces are exquisite hand crafted bridal headpieces created by local Cuban-American designer Maria Elena.

Annia’s mission was to give thanks and give back to our active duty and veteran brides and spouses by setting up a day where military brides would be able to come and select a headpiece from several sets of donated Maria Elena Headpieces.

When the American Red Cross asked what inspired the creation of this event Annia responded,
"I want to create lasting meaning for these brave women on their wedding day. Maria Elena Headpieces is a symbol of unity in our family -- it is our family business, where my grandmother founded the company almost 30 years ago. I want to honor my grandmother's determination of creating a successful woman owned business -- just like I want to honor these women who fight for our freedom - daily. I want this gift - this headpiece- to reflect not only beauty but strength, willingness and brilliance - qualities that we all women have and should always be honored."
Please consider answering our call to action today -- we encourage all of you to continue supporting the American Red Cross with your generous donations, by volunteering and philanthropic endeavors which aid in our community's moments of need.
Warmest Regards,
Marile & Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq.
