SBU Clothing Recycling Program Raising awareness, reducing waste with new 'Red Hot' donation bins!

September is Hunger Action Month In partnership with Island Harvest, SBU’s Beta Alpha Psi Chapter is fighting hunger all month long. The collection box is outside Harriman Hall Room 109. 
September is Suicide Prevention Month The Center for Prevention and Outreach has coordinated a series of events throughout the month to raise awareness and support for mental health and mental illness, including the 7th Annual Walk of Hope Monday, September 30. See the full list of events. 
Fire Safety Season Fire & Emergency Services is promoting awareness of Fire Safety season with its annual Heat & Heat events, Fire Safety Expo, and an appearance at CommUniversity Day.
Be Well Fest Tuesday, September 17 - the perfect way to kick off the semester at our Student Health and Counseling Center with outdoor activities, giveaways, popcorn, ice cream, and a chance to explore our space and meet friendly staff. Students who sign up for a tour will receive limited vouchers for on-campus Dunkin’ or Starbucks. Find out more

Anthony's Red Shoe FUNd Run Sunday, October 13. Register for a 5k (walk or run) and 1 mile fun run/walk to benefit the Ronald McDonald House being built on Stony Brook's campus beginning in 2026.
Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines Now Available on Campus! Student Health, Wellness & Prevention Services has partnered with CVS to offer influenza and COVID-19 vaccines to all students, faculty and staff, on-site. For dates, times and locations, and to advance register, click here.

Be Part of a Campus Beautification Effort

Join us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, September 20 to paint a mural near the main entrance of the Educational Communications Center (ECC) building (weather permitting). The mural showcases the School of Communication and Journalism, whose production studio is in ECC. All are welcome; no artistic ability necessary for this fun, 'paint-by-number' event. RSVP here.
