Creating a Welcoming Environment Across
Gwinnett Place |
A recent 11Alive feature shined a spotlight on the impactful work of the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District’s Community Patrol Ambassadors, a dedicated team committed to creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment throughout the district. Serving as a visible and approachable presence, the Ambassadors play an essential role in enhancing the day-to-day experience for residents, employees, business owners and visitors alike.
Each day, the Community Patrol Ambassadors are on the ground engaging with the community — offering assistance, providing information and helping maintain the area's overall appearance and safety. Their presence not only helps deter unwanted activity but also reinforces a sense of comfort and hospitality that encourages people to spend more time in Gwinnett’s central business district, whether they are shopping, working, dining or visiting local businesses.
To ensure continuous coverage and support, Gwinnett Place CID partners with Signal, a private-sector security organization, to provide patrol services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This around-the-clock presence ensures that the district remains welcoming and inviting at all hours. Together with CID staff, this partnership strengthens coordination, responsiveness and creates a sense of community.
Beyond safety and visibility, the Ambassadors serve as connectors and problem-solvers within the district. They assist guests with directions, support local businesses and serve as a resource for individuals who may require additional help by connecting them with appropriate services and community partners. Their work reflects a thoughtful, people-centered approach to safety and community.
Through consistent engagement, collaboration and dedication, the Community Patrol Ambassadors help foster a vibrant, inclusive and inviting environment across Gwinnett Place. Their efforts underscore the Gwinnett Place CID’s commitment to enhancing quality of life, supporting economic vitality and ensuring that everyone who enters the district feels safe, supported and welcome.

Traffic Advisory: Steve Reynolds Boulevard Improvements Underway |
|
|
Drivers and businesses in the district should be aware of ongoing roadway work along Steve Reynolds Boulevard. From Shackleford Road to Club Drive, the corridor will experience intermittent lane closures through May 2026 as operational improvements are completed.
This CID-initiated transportation improvement project will limit lane drops from one intersection to the next by reconfiguring the lanes along this section of Steve Reynolds Boulevard to maximize its ability to convey traffic more efficiently. It is anticipated that driver expectations may also be better met, resulting in fewer crashes as weaving movements will be reduced. The project will construct a third southbound through lane on Steve Reynolds Boulevard at Satellite Boulevard, northbound dual left turn lanes on Steve Reynolds Boulevard at Venture Drive, a northbound right turn lane on Steve Reynolds Boulevard at Shackleford Road, and southbound triple left turn lanes on Steve Reynolds Boulevard at Club Drive. It will also include the construction of traffic signal upgrades throughout the corridor. Utility relocations are underway.
Work will take place weather permitting, and closures will be temporary, but motorists should plan for potential delays and allow extra travel time when navigating the area. We appreciate your patience during construction and will continue to share updates as they become available.
