SCRAPPY'S BIRTHDAY BASH
Happy October, Eagles! As we look forward to cooler weather and Homecoming excitement begins, Scrappy is kicking the month off with a birthday bash. Celebrate our favorite feathered friend from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 4, on the Library Mall. Grab a cupcake, enjoy the DJ and hang out with Scrappy and his mascot pals.
Did you know our beloved mascot debuted as a live bird on Oct. 6, 1950? Donated by a local businessman, the bird was named “Scrappy” by the student body. The name stuck through the years, except for when he was briefly known as Eppy, and Scrappy has been the Mean Green’s biggest fan for decades.
