CJLP Symposium to Look at Issues Faced by Crossover Youth
| |
LLS' Center for Juvenile Law and Policy launched its three-year Integrated Legal and Education Advocacy Project in 2017 to provide holistic juvenile justice, education and social work advocacy to L.A. “crossover children” – children involved in both the dependency and juvenile justice court systems who are especially vulnerable to the “school-to prison-pipeline.” "Holistic Advocacy: Working to End the School-to-Prison Pipeline" – to be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday, March 11 and Friday, March 12 – will gather education, juvenile justice and dependency advocates to discuss lessons learned and obstacles still to be overcome in direct client service and policy advocacy. Given the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and its long-term impacts on system-involved youth, the symposium will focus on this unique historical moment and its opportunities for systemic change. The project was made possible with support of the Everychild Foundation. More>>
