CAFE CON ALONDRA: 
PROSTITUTION AND SEX TRAFFICKING
Please join me tonight for a community conversation about neighborhood safety and learn about the resources available for women who want to stop engaging in sex work for survival. Many residents want to know how they can help reduce sex trafficking, join us to learn more about this issue and identify solutions we can work on together.

We will meet on Lake Street and 16th Avenue for an outdoor conversation, we'll bring the chairs!

Open Streets is coming to East Lake! Explore and enjoy Lake Street without the presence of motorized traffic! 

Open Streets events bring together local businesses, families, and neighbors to bike, walk, socialize, play and shop in their communities in a car-free environment.
Open Streets offers more than 100 fun, family-friendly events put on by local businesses and event partners. SUPPORT BLACK LIVES MATTER ORGANIZERS KANDACE AND MICHAEL!
In September, Black Lives Matter Minneapolis organizers, Kandace Montgomery and Michael McDowell, will join a delegation of Minnesota and Wisconsin activists, organizers, and politicians, in working collaboratively with Afro-Colombian workers demanding justice in the port city of Buenaventura as well as sugar cane and flower workers. 
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IS TUESDAY, AUGUST 4
National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to hold block parties and get to know their neighbors as a way to foster community building.  Look at the official list of block parties on the City website to find one close to you, bring a dish to share, and go out in the streets to meet your neighbors!


CTUL WORKERS GALA
CTUL organizes low-wage workers form across the Twin Cities to develop leadership and educate one another to build power and lead the struggle for fair wages, better working conditions, basic respect, and a voice in our workplaces. Celebrate and support their important work.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is undergoing what may be the most comprehensive planning effort in its 130 year history. Minneapolis residents are encouraged to get involved and help the MPRB with three distinct, yet deeply intertwined projects: Closing the Gap-Investing in our Neighborhood Parks, RecQuest, and Service Area Master Plans. Get involved by attending a public meeting or subscribing to receive timely emails about the projects.

SUMMER STREET WORK
Summer road construction season is here! Expect some delays for now and smooth streets and new bike lanes when the projects are completed. Projects include 26th and 28th streets, 31st Street in Powderhorn and Corcoran neighborhoods, and a number of local streets in the Central neighborhood. Come to LSP’s backyard get-together to connect with LSP members and others in the community interested in building a sustainable farm and food system while enjoying delicious local food. 
Bring a side dish to share and we’ll provide brats and burgers from LSP member farms, as well as a vegetarian option. Plus enjoy live music from the Brass Messengers and free local beer! This is a family friendly event.
