It's crazy to think that this will be my last newsletter of 2025! I hope you are all enjoying the last part of this year and have a wonderful holiday season. This newsletter has some information on events that are coming up and State 4-H opportunities. Be sure to check it all out!
If you are new to Door County 4-H - welcome, we are so happy you are here! This email newsletter is one of the main ways that I share information with Door County 4-H families, but you will also receive emails from 4HOnline occasionally with information. Door County 4-H Communications Contest |
The Door County 4-H Communications contest will take place on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Door County Government Center (421 Nebraska Street, Sturgeon Bay). Registrations are due by January 23rd, 2026. Please contact the Extension Office at (920)746-2260 or Candis Dart, 4-H Program Educator, at candis.dart@wisc.edu with any questions or concerns.

Quality Market Animal Sale (QMAS) |

If youth are interested in participating in the Door County Quality Market Animal Sale during the 2026 Door County Fair, there are specific rules and requirements that need to be met. Be sure to follow the Door County Quality Market Animal Sale website and Facebook page for information on the rules and requirements to participate in the Quality Market Animal Sale for the 2025 Door County Fair.
Exhibitors MUST attend one of the mandatory Group A: Orientation and Rules meetings:
December 22, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
or
December 30, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
Both will be held at the Sandbox in Sturgeon Bay.
Beef Weigh-In will be held Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Fairgrounds.

Clover Con Skills Camp offers 4-H members the opportunity to explore interests in comics, fantasy, and gaming. This hybrid program combines online and in-person sessions focused on various creative and practical skills. Participants will engage in activities such as world building, character development, and costume creation centered around their favorite comic or fantasy themes.
This four-week program for youth in grades 5-9 covers the following skill areas: creative writing and character development, cardboard world building, leather craft, theme-based food making, archery, costume design/building, and mapmaking.
Cost: The program fee is $40 which is $20 for each in-person workshop. This includes a meal at each of the in-person workshops and needed supplies..
Eligibility and Registration: The event is open to any 4-H member within the eight-county area (Manitowoc, Brown, Sheboygan, Winnebago, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee and Door). Participation is limited to the first 40 individuals who register: https://2026clovercon.4honline.com/

January 31: Winnebago County, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (In-person workshop)

Ready to carve out some creativity?
Join us for an exciting hands-on series designed for youth in 5th grade and up—and their trusted caregivers! Together, you’ll dive into the art of green wood carving, exploring history, culture, and sustainability while building real-world skills.
In this interactive experience, you’ll:
Discover how wood carving traditions have evolved over time
Learn the difference between green wood and dry wood
Practice selecting and harvesting sticks for carving
Gain basic carving skills and create your own wooden flower masterpiece
Before you start carving, check out our knife safety tips and get ready to work side-by-side with your caregiver. This series is all about connection, creativity, and community—with plenty of opportunities to share ideas and celebrate your progress online.
