Project SEARCH at Soddy Daisy High

This school year, Hamilton County Department of Education partnered with State of Tennessee Vocational Rehabilitation and BCBST to create an internship program for students with intellectual disabilities called Project SEARCH.   The program is entering the third and final rotation of internships.  Project SEARCH is a unique transition-to-work internship program that teaches students in their last year of high school competitive, transferable, and marketable job skills.  Soddy-Daisy High School has three students in the program.  All three are doing great in their internships.  They have completed internships in Marketing, Single Point of Contact, Fitness Center, Environmental Services, Outgoing Mail, BlueCare, Customer Deliverables, and Fulfillment. Students will be graduating May 22.   Way to go Brittany Barnett, Martin Boatwright and Austin Mayse for a job well done!  Pictured with the students is Jill Carrier, Educational Assistant for the CDC program.
