Dear Traveler,
A Letter from Your Travel Concierge Team
As we settle into the bloom of April, we’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to find the extraordinary. Often, in our pursuit of the next "great" destination, we forget that the most profound luxuries are frequently the simplest.
This month, we were moved by a reflection from astronaut Christina Koch upon her return from the Artemis II mission. Having traveled farther from Earth than almost any human in history, her most poignant realization wasn't about the vastness of the moon or the stars. It was about home. One week after her return, she shared:
"I know a morning cup of coffee on the porch with your best friend is a simple and universally small thing. But it is also everything."
Before she left on March 27th, she looked around her "humble little life" and realized how much she would miss it. It is a whimsical thought, isn't it? That someone who has seen the entire curvature of the Earth would long for the simple steam rising from a ceramic mug.
In travel, we often seek the grand, but we find the soul of a journey in the "simple things." It’s that first espresso at a sidewalk café in a faraway land where the world slows down, or the way the light hits a cobblestone street before the city wakes. This year, we want to help you find those "everything" moments—the ones that turn a trip into a cherished heirloom.
With gratitude for your trust and shared passion for discovery,
Anca and Bruce

Destination Spotlight ~ The Serenity of the Portuguese Coast
| |
| While the world rushes toward the bright lights of summer, April in Portugal offers a different kind of wealth: silence and space. From the rugged cliffs of the Alentejo to the mist-covered vineyards of the Douro Valley, Portugal is a masterclass in the "simple luxury" of slow travel.
This is the season of the Atlantic Roller. Along the wild Costa Vicentina, you can sit atop a limestone cliff and watch these majestic, long-period swells travel from the deep ocean to the shore. There is a profound, meditative rhythm to them—a reminder that the earth has its own pace, entirely independent of our schedules.
We recommend finding a quiet corner in a town like Sagres or Comporta. Here, luxury isn't about gold leaf or velvet ropes; it’s about a bowl of fresh caldo verde shared at a family-run tasca, the scent of salt air and wild rosemary, and the simple joy of watching the horizon until the stars emerge. It is a place that doesn't just ask you to slow down—it demands it.

🇮🇹 Amalfi Coast Coat: Cliffs of Color, Waters of Wonder 🍋
May 30- June 6, 2026
At Allora’Scapes, what we do isn’t just a service—it’s a passion that has been cultivated over more than 30 years. Our love for Italy, especially, has grown through deep connections, language, and lived experiences that we’re so excited to share with you.
Each year, we host a small-group journey to the Amalfi Coast, and this year we’ll be there May 30 – June 6, 2026. We stay in a beautiful private villa tucked away in a charming village just outside of Sorrento—far from the crowds, yet perfectly positioned to explore. With a limited number of guests, the experience feels relaxed, personal, and easy from the moment you arrive.
Our time together includes private drivers, private boat days along the coast, and meals prepared by local chefs—but what truly makes this trip special are the connections. Many of our experiences are made possible through friendships built over decades. You’re not just visiting Italy—you’re being welcomed into it. We share laughter, stories, incredible food, and create memories (and friendships) that last long after the trip ends.
And if you’re feeling spontaneous… we do have 1 room left available for this year’s Amalfi Coast departure. Itinerary Pricing and Overview, contact Anca for more information.

Beyond Amalfi, Allora’Scapes also designs and hosts private group journeys. This year alone, we are curating two special family experiences—one through Tuscany and Rome, and another in Sicily. Whether it’s a milestone celebration, a family reunion, a destination wedding, or a corporate retreat, we create each itinerary from scratch based on your vision.
From the first idea to managing every detail while you’re there, we’re with you every step of the way. If you’ve been thinking about gathering your favorite people for something meaningful, memorable, and truly effortless—we would love to help you bring it to life. Contact us for more information!

The "Coffee" Carry-On: For the traveler who values their morning coffee ritual as much as Christina Koch, we’ve been hearing impressive things about the AeroPress Go Plus. While it’s certainly no substitute for a proper Roman espresso or a Colombian pour-over—and we’d suggest putting it away in those coffee capitals—it is a brilliant solution for a private sunrise on your balcony or those long transit days where a "simple luxury" is hard to find.
EES & ETIAS Preparedness: As the EU begins to finalize its digital border systems, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your return date to avoid any administrative friction. Note: We are seeing longer lines in Europe, so please factor in additional time for arrivals.
TSA PreCheck® Reminder: With summer travel approaching, now is the time to verify your PreCheck status. Remember, while some international programs are seeing delays, domestic PreCheck remains the gold standard for a stress-free airport experience.
Pro Tip: Enroll through your airline app (American, Delta, United) in TSA PreCheck Touchless ID, a biometric program at over 65 airports using facial scanning to verify identity. This eliminates the need to show a physical ID or boarding pass, and the lines are often even shorter than standard PreCheck.
As Always, Safe travels!
