EVEN MORE REASONS TO FEEL GOOD ...

Record-Breaking, Life-Saving Blood Drive Advancement partnered with Stony Brook Medicine to set a new benchmark, with 63 donors at its recent blood drive. Saying they couldn't be more proud, Advancement's Christine McGrath thanked all involved: "It takes a village to make something like this happen, and we're beyond grateful to everyone who played a part in making this event a success. From organizing and promoting to donating and volunteering, the collective efforts made a real difference.  A very special shout out to the Building Managers of Wang Center and the Administration Building!"

Kudos to the School of Social Welfare (SSW) for winning the SBU Athletics Dean's Challenge for the second year! With more than 300 guests, SSW had the highest number of attendees out of nine competing Stony Brook schools in the SBU vs. SUNY Albany game on November 9. As a result, an SSW student will receive a $250 student book scholarship for the spring 2025 semester. Said SSW Communications' Jennifer Davidson, "The SSW community, including our agency partners who supervise our student interns, brought their sense of pride, friendly sense of competition and enthusiastic spirit. We also had the opportunity to learn about the work the Stony Brook Student-Athlete Development team does each day to support student athletes.”

Holiday lights and festive spirits were abound at the Third Annual Rothefeller Tree Lighting. The celebration kicked off at 6 p.m. with a captivating performance by the High C’s, setting a joyful tone for the evening. Wolfie made a special appearance to spread holiday cheer while students enjoyed giveaways courtesy of SBU Eats. Read more.
