Did you work for Aramark in 2022?
If you are a non-resident alien for tax purposes and received a W2 tax document from Aramark for the tax year 2022, please email Holly Neill neillh@miamioh.edu in the Payroll Services Office for information on filing your tax returns.

The April 18th tax filing deadline is in less than 2 weeks! If you were present in the U.S. during 2022, you are required to file tax forms with the IRS, even if you did not receive U.S. income or if you have already departed the U.S. Failure to file can lead to complications when applying for US visas in the future.
|
Do NOT use TurboTax, H&R Block, or other software unless Sprintax indicates that you are a "Resident Alien for Tax Purposes." These companies do not offer the forms that are required for non-resident aliens. Using these companies or their software will cause you to file your taxes incorrectly if you are a non-resident alien.
Miami University staff are not qualified nor allowed to provide individual tax advice, but here are resources you can utilize if you have questions:

Tax Documents from Miami
-
W-2 forms are available online via Employee Services Online (BannerWeb) for anyone who worked at Miami during 2022.
-
If you received a taxable scholarship from Miami in 2022 but have not received your 1042-S (by mail) please contact Holly Neill in Payroll Services.

Finally, Sprintax offers several live webinars that cover topics such as who must file, tax residency, FICA, State returns, implications of misfiling, as well as how to use Sprintax to prepare a compliant tax return. We strongly urge you to attend one of these webinars. You may register using the links below:
